Welcome in 2019 Minty! Today, I’m reactivating my WordPress 101 blog series. I started this series to help you jump start your WordPress website design and to help you better understand how WordPress works.
In this post, I wanted to discuss WordPress plugins – elements of software that can be used to expand the functionality of your site, improving your website design wise and making it easier for you. I already showed you my 18+ essential WordPress plugins, but now it’s time to share how you can install them.
Let’s dive in, shall we?!
How to Install Plugins in WordPress
There are two types of WordPress plugins – free and premium ones. The free plugins (or free plugins with a premium upgrade) are usually available in The WordPress Plugins Repository. The premium plugins, on the other hand, are usually accessible on private websites, like Elementor Pro or ThemeForest.
How to install free WordPress plugins:
From your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New

Then search for the plugin, click Install Now and then Activate it.

Go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin and upload the .zip file of your plugin, then Activate it.

Simple right?!
I can’t image my WordPress website without plugins! They make my life so much easier and help my site to be more functional. As I mentioned, I already shared a post with my 18+ favourite WordPress plugins, but so much has changed since then and I’m not using some of those plugins. I think I’ll share a new post with the currently used and recommended plugins, soon! 😉
