How to Add a Favicon to WordPress Blog & Website

If you regularly read my blog, you know that I’m all about branding your website and social media profiles as much as you can – meaning uploading all your brand & design elements, using your brand colours & fonts and more.

Today, I wanted to talk about a small, but important part of a brand & website design – favicon. I want to show you how you can easily add a favicon to a WordPress blog & website. Let’s dive in, shall we?!

WHAT’S FAVICON AND WHY YOU NEED ONE?

Favicon is a small element that you can see in the browser next to the page title. It helps you differentiate the website, especially when you have dozens of tabs open at once.

Favicon is an important part of brand identity – it helps your website stand out, it makes your blog look legit and most importantly, it maintains a consistent brand experience for your audience.

I hope this post showed you the importance of having the favicon on your WordPress blog & website. Favicon is one part of the brand design that’s super easy to set it up but makes a huge difference for brand consistency in the long run. For my clients and my own website, I usually pick up one of the submarks as the favicon or create a simplified version based on one of them.
