Well-designed brand identity works like a system. Each of the elements is showing the values and mission behind the brand. I adore working with clients like Nicole Stewart, who already been in business for few years and their vision is clear. She knew exactly who she wants to attract, what values she wants to represent visually and what she’s trying to achieve with her new brand identity.
Her previous brand identity didn’t reflect any of her brand values or mission. Her designs weren’t cohesive and didn’t harmonise with the quality and style of her work. I spend two weeks partnering together with Nicole, to create something more fitting for her wedding planning business.
I thrilled to share with you the final brand design for Nicole Stewart. Let’s dive in! ;)
Below, you’ll find out more about Nicole’s brand, her brand keywords, what package did she choose, what was included in the package and what was the individualised solution for Nicole Stewart.
Before I show you each of the design elements of her new brand, I thought it would be great to show you her brand board showcasing all the brand identity elements:

The new brand identity for Nicole Stewart, captured her sophisticated, modern and unique style. The custom watercolour texture, the colour scheme with different shades of blue and geometric pattern perfectly fit the beach weddings she usually organises. The serif and script font combination along with the blue colour palette demonstrates that her brand is elegant, high-end and luxurious.
Below you can see all the brand elements and collaterals both for print and social media or digital, I’ve designed for her:
1. PRIMARILY LOGO DESIGN
Final logo design for Nicole Stewart, featuring beautiful script font and elegant sans serif font for her tagline. I’ve decided to use the drakes shade of blue which is the most sophisticated, for her primarily logo. The main logo looks almost like she just placed her signature there, which was the feel I was aiming for.
2. ALTERNATIVE LOGO DESIGNS
I’ve designed three different (but yet similar) alternative logo version for Nicole. The first one is the white version of her main logo on top of the custom watercolour texture with her new brand colour palette. The second version is a stacked version, including her name written in the font from the tagline and surname with the same font as in the main logo. I did this second version in two different brand colours depends on what background she might use it. The third alternative logo is her full name in the serif font and again in the navy blue colour from the primary logo.
These are my absolute favourite parts of Nicole’s brand identity. I used her initials with additional swash for the letter “n” and type the business name and the tagline around the circle. For the first four submarks I simply used the blue shades from the colour palette with white lettering and for the initials in the remaining two, I choose the darker shades of blue, so it won’t blend in with the lightest blue and light grey.
4. COLOUR PALETTE
My second favourite element of the full brand identity is one hue colour palette for Nicole. In case you’re wondering, the shade of grey is also from the “blue family” it’s just unsaturated.
5. PATTERN DESIGN
Nicole wanted a pattern that is geometric but feels raw and organic at the same time. Maybe it’s only visible up close, but the lines have rough edges.
6. WATERCOLOUR TEXTURE DESIGN
As you probably heard before, I’m a huge fan of watercolours, so you can imagine my joy when I’ve learnt that Nicole wanted a watercolour texture for her brand. So, I did one after we finalise her brand colours to use them in actual texture design. I love how those different shades work together so well!
I designed for custom website buttons for Nicole’s homepage to put the emphasis on four most important part of her site: about page, services page, blog page and gallery page. I designed them in the same style as one of the alternative logos.
8. FACEBOOK BRANDING DESIGN
Branding isn’t just on the website, so in order to have a cohesive brand identity, you need to brand your social media profiles. I created a profile image using one of the submarks, a cover image with one of the alternative logos as a watermark and Facebook tabs utilising watercolour texture.
9. BRAND ICONS DESIGN
Since Nicole is a wedding planner, I knew I had to design brand icons which fit her business. She can use them for example as category buttons for her blog, in blog post images or on other printed collaterals.
10. BUSINESS CARD DESIGN
Nicole wanted unique business cards as one of her collaterals design. For the front, I used the alternative logo, but without the background, use one of the lines from the custom pattern to divide each section. For the back, I utilised the custom watercolour texture and my favourite submark in her main, navy blue colour.
11. LETTERHEAD DESIGN
Since Nicole’s business is online but also offline, she needed a letterhead design with her logo, website address and watercolour texture.
12. PACKAGING STICKERS DESIGN
Nicole also needed a packaging stickers, so I used the favourite submark (I know, again?!), her initials, one of the alternative logo and thank you written in her brand font
13. THANK YOU CARDS DESIGN
Nicole cares deeply about her client’s experience, so I designed a thank you cards (remember the “thank you” above?) with watercolour texture and her submark.

Nicole was a dream client and I’m honoured that she trusted me with her new brand design. I’m happy to be able to create and add to my portfolio, the brand which is sophisticated, modern and in a unique style.
