I’ve been a brand & website designer for almost 3 years now and over the years, my design process, as well as my design packages, changed. As I gained more experience, I was able to eliminate some unnecessary steps in my process and evaluate them. I had entire blog post series about my creative process, but since then, I changed the process and packages.
Today, I want to show you how my brand design process looks like, so the step-by-step process for my brand design package. This post is a part of a mini blog post series about my brand design & brand & website design packages.
I have two more blog posts coming up for the brand design package process (more detailed one) and the first one will be about just design process (this one would be about the entire process from inquiry to launch) and what is included in the package (deliverables) and the second post will be about the project timeline, where I share how I design brand in 2 weeks, so you’ll have an inside look what I do each day of the 2 week period.
Let’s dive in in today’s content, shall we?!
My brand design process has four sections/milestones: pre-work, brand identity design, brand collaterals design and wrapping up. In the pre-work milestone, it’s all about preparation for the brand design, so filling out an inquiry form, brand questionnaire and homework. In brand identity part, I focus on creating the main logo, colour palette, alternative logos and submarks. In the brand collaterals phase, I design up to five brand collaterals of your choice and then, showcase all the brand elements on the brand board. In the wrapping up section, I prepare your final files, so you can launch your new brand identity on your website and social media account.
How My Brand Design Process Looks Like. Step-By-Step Process for My Brand Design Package
PRE-WORK
STEP 1 – INQUIRY

If you’re interested in working with me on your brand design, fill out my brand design inquiry form and tell me more about your business, your style and any additional details you might have
STEP 2 – BOOK

After inquiry, I’ll respond to you within 1-3 business days with more details, open start dates & more. If you decide to move forward, you’ll receive contract & invoice for the 25% deposit to secure your spot in my projects calendar
STEP 3 – HOMEWORK

After the first invoice is paid and contract is signed, I’ll send you my brand design questionnaire in which you can find a homework (the fun kind) for you which is creating a Pinterest Board with inspiration
STEP 4 – LOGO DESIGN + COLOUR PALETTE DESIGN

I’ll design 3 concepts for your main logo along with the colour palette based on your inspiration board. Then, you’ll choose one to move forward with and let me know what you would like me to change in the design. There are 2 rounds of revisions included
STEP 5 – ALTERNATIVE LOGOS + SUBMARKS DESIGN

After you approve your main logo, I’ll create 2-3 alternative logos and 3-4 submarks based on it. They are the variations of your main logo and it can be for example logo without the tagline, a stacked version, icon/badge
STEP 6 – DESIGN OF FIVE COLLATERALS OF YOUR CHOICE

There are 5 collaterals of your choice included in the package. They can be for digital/social or print (I’m going to need final copy & images for them). I’ll design 1 concept for each of the 5 collaterals (5 concepts in total) & make 1 round of revision for each collateral (5 rounds of revision in total)
STEP 7 – BRAND BOARD + DESIGN ELEMENTS DESIGN

Although brand board design fits more into the brand identity design part of my brand design package, I like to create a brand board showcasing all design elements after I designed the collaterals. There is one concept and two revisions to the brand board
STEP 8 – FINAL FILES DELIVERY

STEP 9 – LAUNCH

Now it’s time to share your new brand with the rest of the world! Upload it to your website, social media profiles and print your collaterals. Once you’re ready I’ll write a portfolio blog posts about your brand and this feature can give your business a boost
