Welcome to the summary of my favourite month – September, the ninth month of my 366 days of illustration challenge. This month, I finally learnt a bit about animation in Adobe After Effects.
I created four animations: with pencil drawing in the line, scissors closing and opening, to-do checklist marks & used my own hand lettering for word “love” drawing in animation. It’s great to try new things! 😉
One other skill I pushed myself to try this month was typography. I come up with two illustrations incorporating letters and foliage.
In September, I created some illustrations around the “Back to School” theme with stationery, a mini collection of Victorian style doors, knitting/sewing theme, as well as coffee and other types of plants – trees and so much more!
In this post, I’m going to share all of the flat illustrations from September, so from day 245 to 274. All of the vector illustrations were drawn in Adobe Illustrator*. Let’s dive in, shall we?!

Day 246 - Pencil Drawing a Curved Line in Animation
This is my first EVER animation made in Adobe After Effects. I don’t know why, but when it comes to practising a new skill, I always push myself to do something extremely hard as a first try 🤷♀️. I guess I just like a challenge 😂

Day 252 - Calathea Orbifolia Plant for my Name Day
Today is my Name Day – it’s something that’s celebrated in Poland. So I decided to draw my favourite houseplant – Calathea Orbifolia. Fun facts – My full name is Adrianna, but a shorter version is Ada (pronounced Ah-duh). One of my pet peeves is when people miswrite my name and use just one ‘N’ instead of two 😑
