I’m kicking off 2020 with probably the most ambitious challenge I ever took on – 366 Days of Illustration Challenge. Each day of each month, I’m going to share one flat design illustration. I have so many unseen designs to share & so many new ideas running around in my head. Let’s do this!
In this post, I’m going to share all vector illustrations I did for the first month, so January. I utilized my brand colours for all the vectors for day 1 to day 31. The general theme was workspace, brand & web design and business. All of the illustrations were drawn in Adobe Illustrator*. All right, without further due, let’s dive in shall we?!

Day 15 - Custom code & CSS styling icon
Whenever I design WordPress websites, I add a custom code & CSS styling to make them one-of-a-kind and fully customised to my client’s blog & business. Here’s an icon representing the custom code

Day 16 - Pantone chips
Single Pantone chips/swatches illustration

Day 17 - Brand collateral items icon
I use this icon all over my site to represent the five brand collaterals included in my design packages. What are brand collaterals – marketing materials such as social media graphics or printed stationery, matching the brand identity (which I design first)

Day 18 - Woman with plants
An avatar of one of my brand design clients with plants in the background. A few years ago, I came up with an idea to draw my client’s avatars instead of using their photos alongside their feedback. See the clients avatars in the action:

Day 19 - Notebooks & Book
I illustrated my current positive-thoughts binder-notebook, then the spiral notebook which you may recognize from day 4 & 6 and a book

Day 20 - Online Shopping or E-commerce Website Design
I couldn’t decide if I should call this illustration online shopping or building an online shop website, so I gave it two titles 🤷 Same with the hand shared on day 14, this was my first serious attempt to draw characters in flat design. And of course, I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t include plants in the background

Day 21 - Daily positive-thoughts notebook
Remember the positive-thoughts binder-notebook from day 19? Here you can see it in more detail, together with glasses (illustrated based on my husband’s eyeglasses!)and some paper clips & hands (drawn based on a photo of my hands)

Day 22 - Email signup form icon
An icon which I use on my site, to represent the email marketing integration with email list sign up form design

Day 31 - Brand & Web Designer + Illustrator - autoportrait
I wanted to wrap up the first month of my whole-year illustration challenge by showcasing the avatar of myself alongside some of the things that are on my designer’s mind all day long: client emails, colour palettes, Adobe Illustrator’s* pen tool, ideas, typography & logo design.

One of my most important New Year’s resolutions for 2020 is to design every day, hence this challenge. Thanks for all your support it means so much to me!

Which of January’s Illustration was your favourite? 😉
